Recreation Facilities Master Plan
East Hants is in the process of developing a Recreation Facilities Master Plan to help guide recreation infrastructure and facilities for the future.
On October 23, 2019, Council approved the Recreation Services Master Plan.
On November 29, 2017, Council approved the Parks, Open Space and Active Transportation Master Plan.
This plan provides a framework for decision-making about East Hants’ open spaces, parks, and active transportation network for the next 20 years. It directs land use, community design and development in a manner consistent with the interests and needs of the community
On November 27, 2019, East Hants Council approved the East Hants Tourism Strategy. East Hants is home to the world’s highest recorded tides, incredible river adventures, historic properties, museums and idyllic scenery.
This document will guide and support future decision-making around tourism goals and opportunities to ensure that all residents of East Hants can benefit from a vibrant tourism industry.
On March 30, 2022, Council approved the East Hants Playground Development Strategy. This strategy provides the Municipality with a road map on how to achieve playgrounds that provide engaging and energetic play for as many children as possible.
On March 30, 2022, East Hants Council approved the Diversity & Inclusion Strategy.
The strategy is designed to help create a diverse and inclusive environment for programs and services to our residents. It identifies guiding principles, objectives and examples of initiatives.

By removing barriers and utilizing the views of others, residents of East Hants can be a leader for diversity and inclusion.
Developing Mount Uniacke’s Recreation Strategy was identified as a strategic initiative to reflect the needs of the community for the next 10 years.

This strategy includes planning for various opportunities, from connecting with Mount Uniacke’s beautiful natural environment to participating in recreation and sports programs.
