Public Information Meeting – PLN24-001 & PLN23-011
The Municipality of East Hants will be holding a Public Information Meeting regarding the following two applications:
PLN24-001: Redesignation and Rezoning, Mount Uniacke
Application by Maple Tree Holdings for the rear portion of PID 45426301, Highway 1, Mount Uniacke. The property is located directly adjacent to and to the south of 122 Highway 1, Mount Uniacke. The application is for amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw to redesignate and rezone from the Regional Commercial (RC) Designation and Zone to the Business Park (BP) Designation and Zone. The front portion of the property is proposed to be kept as Regional Commercial (RC) Designation and Zone.
3230225 Nova Scotia Limited (Cottage Country) has submitted an application to redesignate their lands to Rural Comprehensive Development District (RCDD) Designation and rezone the same properties to Rural Comprehensive Development District (RCDD) Zone. This will allow for consideration of a development agreement to permit a 550 dwelling unit bare-land condominium development with 24.6 hectares of multi-use development (commercial & residential). The lands under consideration are identified as PID 45147154, PID 45147253, PID 45187242, PID 45155314, PID 45403144, PID
45392602, and PID 45155306, East Uniacke. These lands are located between Nature Drive, East Uniacke Road, and Long Lake Road.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 7 p.m. at the Uniacke & District Fire Hall, 654 Highway 1, Mount Uniacke. The purpose of the meeting is to outline the proposals and respond to residents’ questions and comments. A final decision to approve or refuse the applications will take place following a Public Hearing to be scheduled at a later date.
