The Municipality of East Hants will be holding two Public Hearings regarding the following applications:
PLN24-002: Mapping Amendment to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw – Upper Nine Mile River
Edward Hunter has submitted an application to change the land use designation and zone of lands located on Indian Road, Upper Nine Mile River identified as PID 45189206 from the Agricultural Reserve (AR) zone and designation to the Rural Use (RU) zone and designation to enable further as-of-right opportunities on the land.
Amendments to the Official Community Plan
East Hants Municipality is considering amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw to permit smaller mini-homes to be used as accessory dwelling units. The proposed changhomes changes would impact residential zones that permit single unit dwellings.
The Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre, 15 Commerce Court, Elmsdale. In the event of cancellation, the meeting will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 beginning at 7 p.m. The Public Hearing will also be livestreamed on the municipal website at easthants.ca/livestream.
At the Hearing, Council will consider presentations from persons regarding the proposals.
