Please join us to officially kick-off a meaningful project by local artist Quentin Syliboy. Funded through the Canada Arts Council, Quentin will create a series of murals depicting Mi’kmaq stories to be displayed within the Municipality of East Hants. This partnership is intended to help foster reconciliation, racial tolerance through education and to help promote and preserve indigenous art and culture.

  • Meet with Quentin and learn more about his work and the meaning behind this project.
  • Elder Bernie Syliboy will recite an opening prayer and offer a smudging ceremonial cleansing practice.
  • After welcoming remarks and opening prayer, enjoy refreshments and watch Quentin as he works in live time on one of the pieces in the collection.

Attendance is free. All are welcome. The event will take place in the lobby of the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre.
