East Hants is committed to equity, anti-racism and accessibility, including ongoing engagement with underserved and under represented communities. This plan represents East Hants’ commitment to advancing equity and combating racism and will be updated every three years.
In September 2022, the Province of Nova Scotia enacted the “Dismantling Racism and Hate Act”, which provides strategic direction for addressing systemic racism, hate and inequity within the Provincial Government.
By April 1, 2025 Municipalities had to have a plan created that will be reviewed every three years, similar to Accessibility plans. Our plan represents East Hants’ commitment to advancing equity and combating racism.
