Daytime Lifeguard Trainee



Location: Elmsdale, NS

The Daytime Lifeguard Trainees will join our Aquatics team and be provided all of the training necessary to begin your career as a Lifeguard with the Municipality of East Hants. If you are an active, community-minded person who enjoys swimming, water safety and serving your community, we want to hear from you! Shifts available Monday to Friday 5:30am to 4:00pm. Optional evenings and weekends available for flexible scheduling.

What you can offer:

  • Able to swim, and comfortable performing activities in water. The training program will include developing strength and fitness in water in order to perform the duties of a lifeguard

  • These positions are subject to child abuse registry and vulnerable sector checks

Training Hourly Rate: $15.20, average 8-15 daytime hours/week for a total of 74 paid course hours.

Training Commitment: Beginning July 2024. Additional in-water swim training and homework will be required, average of an additional 3-6 hours/week depending on candidate’s experience and fitness level.

Daytime Lifeguard Rate: $20.00 p/hr plus signing bonus of $200.00 paid following completion of training and probationary period.
