Megan Apostoleris ranked 8th in the Women’s 40-44 category at the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games. As co-owner of CrossFit Renfrew Strength + Conditioning, Megan shares her passion for helping people achieve their personal best.
Megan discovered CrossFit in 2008 and she was hooked after her very first class. The combination of high-intensity training and Olympic weightlifting was perfect for Megan to challenge herself and continuously improve her fitness level. Each year, hundreds of thousands of individuals worldwide begin the CrossFit Games season by taking part in the CrossFit Open, a global, online competition. In Megan’s age group, only 10 women in the world advance to the CrossFit Games and in 2023 Megan had the honour of being one of them. While it is a privilege to compete, Megan focuses on her daily training for her mental and physical health while balancing a full time job with the Federal Government and co-owning CrossFit Renfrew Strength + Conditioning.
In 2022, Megan Apostoleris and John Garden jumped on the opportunity to purchase an existing gym at 7 Market Drive, Elmsdale, Nova Scotia and expand its offering by becoming a CrossFit Affiliate. CrossFit Renfrew Strength + Conditioning offered its first CrossFit class in March 2023. Megan and John continue to lead programming and have added several coaches to their roster. Their main goal is to empower their members and help them become the best versions of themselves. When asked, Megan shared that one of the biggest challenges she faces as a gym owner is convincing potential new members that they don’t “need to be fit to start CrossFit.” Regardless of your experience or ability, CrossFit Renfrew Strength + Conditioning welcomes everyone and tailors workouts to be appropriately challenging. Megan and John look forward to growing their membership and helping new clients meet their goals.
