Notice of Public Hearing – December 18, 2024

The Municipality of East Hants will hold a public hearing regarding the following matters:

PLN24-008 Development Agreement – Belnan
Application from Gurmehar Singh Walia to enter into a development agreement to allow for an automobile dealer and automobile vehicle repair and maintenance use on property identified as PID 45431129, Highway 214, Belnan.

Consideration of Disposal PIDS 45336922, 45149093 and 45347036, Walton
Municipal proposal to dispose of property situated at PIDs 45336922, 45149093 and 45347036, Walton, known as the former Walton Wharf and Breakwater properties, as part of a land exchange with Minas Select Inc.; in exchange, the Municipality will receive a portion of PID 45380375 and 45430287, as subdivided, to facilitate a water access point.

The combined 2024 PVSC assessed value of PIDs 45336922, 45149093 and 45347036 is $11,500. In addition to the property exchange, the Municipality will pay $27,000 + HST for the subdivided property to account for water access and site improvements.

The public hearing for PLN24-008 will take place at the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre, 15 Commerce Court, Elmsdale, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The public hearing for the consideration of the disposal will take place in Council Chambers on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, beginning at 7:45 p.m. In the event of cancellation, the meeting will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, beginning at 7:00 p.m and 7:15 p.m. The public hearing will also be livestreamed on the municipal website at easthants.ca/livestream.
