Business Development Officer



Location: Elmsdale, NS

We are recruiting for a Business Development Officer to join our growing Economic and Business Development team.

The Business Development Officer is focused on business retention, attraction, and workforce development, supporting business park development and management, local and external business engagement, and marketing and communications.

What you can offer:

  • Post-secondary education in a field related to Economic and Business development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in business development, sales, marketing, or a field that focuses on relationship building in a community to achieve a common goal.
  • You are a strong relationship builder and communicator, and can effectively build trust in order to collaborate with your team, members of the business community, and other partners.
  • You are a great multi-tasker, with experience managing initiatives to completion, meeting your project requirements and deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of municipal government related to economic development activities would be a great asset.
  • You are comfortable with using technology related to marketing, social media, and customer relationship management.
  • If you have a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) or Economic Development (Ec.D.) designation or you are working towards a designation, that would be a great asset.
  • A valid drivers license and/or the ability to travel to visit partners in the Municipality or outside the Municipality.

Annual salary: $65,000.00 — $81,000.00
