Bay Bites and Tidal Treats kicked off their 2024 season on June 1st with an expanded quick-serve menu. This family-run food trailer opened in August 2023 for a short season and is back for its first full season serving customers from June to September at 1441 Burntcoat Road, Noel.

Returning to Noel

Having grown up on the Noel shore, Bay Bites and Tidal Treats’ owner, Melissa MacDonald, knew she wanted to return to her roots and fill a need for quick-serve food. With a supportive local community and the nearby Burntcoat Head Park welcoming over 40,000 visitors a year, Melissa saw an opportunity for a food service business at her family property in Noel.  Melissa ordered a fifteen-foot food trailer from Canada’s largest manufacturer of food trucks, Food Truck Canada. The food trailer came fully equipped and ready for operation.  Melissa served her first customer on August 8, 2023 and hasn’t looked back.

Connecting with Customers

Despite a short introductory season in 2023, Bay Bites and Tidal Treats won the People’s Choice Awards of Best Fries and Best Food Server by High Tides Bulletin, a community bulletin for the greater Hants North Area.   When asked what her favorite part of the business is, Melissa shared that she enjoys “learning about others”. Whether they are a tourist from another country or a returning customer from down the road, she enjoys connecting with everyone and learning about their life experiences. Melissa looks forward to meeting new customers and seeing what another season of entrepreneurship will bring.
