Email from Dusan Soudek, Canoe Kayak Nova Scotia (CKNS) Director of Environment regarding damage of the Meek Road canoe/kayak launch site as a result of the July 2023 flood event. Estimate to repair is $4000-$5000. There is also concern regarding inadequate culvert sizing under Meek Road (provincially owned). CKNS believes this is outside of the agreement with the municipality that they are responsible for routine maintenance only. Agreement is due to expire at the end of September 2024 which may not be renewed without support and remediation of the site.
