East Hants is one of the fastest growing Municipalities in Nova Scotia. With that excitement, comes a constantly changing built environment. East Hants wants to celebrate those who have taken the extra care and effort to make East Hants a more beautiful place to live by investing in our built environment through the East Hants Design Awards.
Larry Binns – Rogita Holdings Limited for making a positive contribution to the protection of environmentally sensitive lands and to the protection of the Sackville River, through the donation of 10.3 acres of land to the Municipality of East Hants.
Daniel and Carla Mullins for making a positive contribution to the heritage of East Hants through the caring renovation and adaptive reuse of the old South Maitland County Home.
Shubenacadie Executive Group Ltd. for making a positive contribution to the built environment of East Hants and the village centre of Shubenacadie, with the expansion of the Family Drug Store, an infill redevelopment.
Shubenacadie Community Development Association for making a positive contribution to the open space opportunities of East Hants residents, through the development of the MacInnis Trail.
James & Catherine Arthur for making an aesthetically positive contribution to the residential built environment of East Hants.
Corridor Developments Ltd. for making a positive contribution to the built environment of East Hants with the development of a high quality multiple unit residential building.
Elliot Equipment Ltd. for making a positive contribution to the industrial built environment of the Elmsdale Business Park.
Lynn and Ron Gallant for using environmental site design principles and green technologies, to build a residential dwelling that uses passive solar heating to reduce the dwelling’s carbon footprint.
